Food Production Teammate

The Food Production Teammate works as part of the team on the production line preparing sushi and other Bento offerings in compliance with established standards and to ensure that the daily production plan is achieved.

Food Production Teammate Job Responsibilities:

  • Prepare sushi and other products including cooking rice, preparation of raw ingredients, sushi rolling, cutting, sorting and packaging.
  • Ensure all operating standards including food safety are adhered and final products meet quality standards.
  • Wash all pots, pans, inserts, utensils, etc and clean kitchen equipment when called upon and as per cleaning schedule.
  • Maintain a favourable working relationship with all other teammates to foster and promote a working environment that maximizes morale, productivity and efficiency.
  • Shipping-Receiving:

    • Load and unload delivery truck by hand or with pallet jack.
    • Receive, identify and label incoming goods from suppliers according to established procedures.
    • Complete daily shipping and receiving logs; record Lot numbers for MSC and Whole Foods Trace Register products
    • Ensure quality standards are met by visually auditing products; report any quality or inventory discrepancy issues to Lead Hand / DC Manager
    • Locate all materials to the relevant storage area, ensuring optimum space utilization and respecting suppliers’ storage recommendation. No damage boxes are allowed.
    • Move inventory to various locations manually and by operating mechanical equipment, including forklift, pallet jack, and handcart.
    • Ensure the shipping / truck loading activities are conducted based on delivery schedule.
    • Assisting in counting of physical inventory.

Food Production Teammate Qualifications:

  • Ability to lift up to 50lbs
  • Ability to work effectively in a team environment
  • Ability to work in a highly repetitive task environment
  • Ability to work in a cold refrigerated environment
  • Ability to stand for an extended periods of time
  • Flexibility to work various shifts and weekends
